The Happiness Connection

with Lely Aldworth


This one day retreat brings us together to hone our happiness skills through the lens of yoga. The practice will include yoga nidra, meditation, pranayama and smart nutrition for a happiness-inducing lunch.
Yoga is all about connection, whether it’s joining up the dots between muscle and bone, body and mind, breath and movement, head to heart or ourselves to each other. Ancient sciences like yoga view everything as connected, reminding us of our innate wholeness. But modern sciences tend to separate things into isolated parts.
Research shows that feeling connected – to our world, to ourselves, to each other –  plays a major part in our sense of mental health & happiness.
Santosha is the practice of cultivating contentment, non-attachment, acceptance, satisfaction. We spend so much of our time trying to be elsewhere, but rarely are we truly here.
Continually seeking the next thing leads to ‘dukkha ‘ – unsatisfactoriness, stress, suffering.  A Santosha practice can free us from our craving yo-yo mind, opening us up to a deeper appreciation of what’s being experienced right here, into the subtle but all-important gateway of now.

The Day

9.45am Arrival + registration

10am – Teaching begins

1pm – Pause for biome-friendly lunch (vegan GF)

and an informative talk about the importance of gut health (see below)

2pm – Teaching continues

5.00pm – Retreat ends

Nutrition for Good Gut Health

During lunch Kate Garden will inform us about the science behind gut health and its connection to
brain, mind and neural pathways – there will be an opportunity to ask questions

Based in the beautiful city of Bath, Kate is a functional medicine practitioner
and an experienced nutritionist with a degree in psychology.
She has a clinic in central London and also practices internationally.


Your retreat day includes: yoga course with Lely, refreshments by Crussh, lunch by Kaliyoga,
