Getting To Spain
Airport Transfers - Car-Pooling
Arrival Day – Sunday
(note: Christmas & New Year arrival days differ)
There is no fixed collection time at the airport because guests will be collected in groups according to flight arrival times. Generally the earliest transfer will be around 11am to meet the first arrivals and the latest shared transfer will leave by 14:00 – Note: you will need to land no later than 13:30 to catch the last group transfer.
After you have cleared customs and collected your luggage, look for your driver at the meeting point. Collection times are arranged to get you on your way to the retreat with the shortest wait possible.
If you are delayed we will wait for you up to one hour in the coffee bar. If you are delayed more than one hour, we will try to fit you in the next group transfer, if there is space; or a private out-of-hours transfer can be arranged (see cost below).
Note: If you can not find a flight to Malaga that lands before 13:30, please consider these options:
option 1 – Arrive a day earlier and stay in a hotel in the historic centre of Malaga, then return to the airport the following morning for a group transfer
option 2 – Book an Out of Hours Transfer (see below)
option 3 – Rent a car at the airport (see directions below)
Departure Day – Saturday
(Christmas & New Year retreats may differ)
COST €40 euros per person
You are welcome to check-out earlier (perhaps to catch an early morning flight?) and we are happy to arrange a private car to take you to the airport – see ‘Out of Hours Transfers’.
Out Of Hours Transfers
If the timing of a Shared-Car Transfer does not coincide with your flight arrival, we can arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport (24 hours notice required).
To book an Out of Hours Transfer, please send an email to email@example.com with your flight details and your mobile phone number.
MALAGA AIRPORT: €130 one way
GRANADA AIRPORT: €65 one way
Google Map Position
36.898582 – 3.441095 Directions in brief: follow the Mediterranean coast to Motril, turn inland towards Granada and follow signs to Orgiva
On leaving the airport follow signs for Malaga and then signs for SEVILLA, CORDOBA, GRANADA, ALMERIA and MOTRIL (A7). After about 10kms the motorway splits into two motorways, it is important that you now keep to the left on the A7 in the direction of ALMERIA and MOTRIL and that you don’t follow signs for Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada. You are on the Autovia del Meditaraneo driving east along the side of the sea. The name changes to Autovia de Sierra Nevada and you are now driving north and inland. Continue on this motorway until junction “175” (about 20kms from the coast), and turn off in the direction of ORGIVA and Las Alpujarras. The slip road brings you down the hill to the large dam and roundabout where you turn right towards ORGIVA. Keep going until you go through a tunnel, then turn left over the River Guadalfeo towards ORGIVA. Continue through ORGIVA town. Bear left at the traffic lights before the church, (signs are for A348 LANJARON & TREVELEZ). As you leave ORGIVA you will pass a small BP filling station near the bridge, then carry straight on and after 0.5km there is a larger BP filling station on the right.
Landmarks from Orgiva to Kaliyoga
1) Continue for about 1km and you will see ‘Camping Puerta de la Alpujarra’ campsite on your left with red pyramid-shaped roofs. (see photo 1) 2) Carry on about 400m – there is a short section of the straight road followed by a sharp right-hand bend (see photo 2 & 3)… Slow down at the Chevron. 3) INDICATE LEFT and TURN LEFT immediately by the long green hedge and the community bin shed.
Now choose the track that runs between the glass-fronted bus stop and the sign for Olive Mill (photo 4). Don’t be tempted by the other track near the hedge, it’s a dead end.
Having turned off the main road, drive along the unmade track slowly (it’s quite bumpy). You will pass a white farm building on the right and then at the bottom of the hill is a building called “Fabricolat de Queso de las Alpujarras”. Follow the road to the LEFT… past around water container on the right… Continue straight on for about 600 more meters. Keep going straight… Don’t take any turnings to the right… you’re nearly there… the Kaliyoga sign is on the right just after the brow of a steep uphill section.

Meeting Point (Malaga)
Malaga Airport – meeting point
Please wait for your driver by the red ‘RELAY’ boutique, just outside the arrivals hall.
Transfers are operated by a small team of friendly, self-employed locals who know the area and provide a personal service in English/Spanish. This service is offered because there is no taxi company in our local town and our drivers know exactly where to go, saving you time and money.
