Meet the founders
In 2002, Rosie & Jonji Miles traveled to Spain in search of a beautiful location to set up a yoga retreat. They fell in love with the Alpujarra region near Granada and the first farmhouse they saw, as predicted by a friend in India, was the right place. The friend’s name was Kali.
The warm climate and majestic mountain views provided an ideal atmosphere for experiencing the basis of yoga practice: truth, wisdom, love. In 2013, Jonji & Rosie opened a Kaliyoga retreat centre in Puglia, southern Italy. Our core values are the same : truth, wisdom, love.
We recruit world-class teachers and crew in both locations and our work relationship is like a family. A retreat at Kaliyoga is a rare opportunity to experience self-care, deep rest and most importantly, self-acceptance. .
Principal yoga teacher at Kaliyoga Spain
One of the things we love most about Lely is the way she teaches yoga. Her classes go way beyond the current trend for ‘fitness yoga’ (that are really just exercises with Sanscrit names). Lely’s approach to yoga combines mindful meditation, mindful movement, mindful breath regulation, mindful ethics and energy medicine. Her deep knowledge and personal points of reference taken from keen day to day observations are what makes Lely so engaging and her classes so deeply satisfying.
