Directions from Malaga airport

via Granada : 180 km on fast motorway
Or via the Mediterranean coast : part dual carriageway and part A-roads, approx 140km.

The Granada route takes two hours and the coast route usually takes about the same, depending on traffic conditions. Whichever route you choose, leave the airport and follow signs for MALAGA-MOTRIL & ALMERIA, then you will find yourself on the MALAGA Motorway bypass.

From Malaga via Granada:

follow the signs out of the airport towards MALAGA. Follow the indications for E-15 / N-340 towards MOTRIL / ANTEQUERA. Stay on the E-15 / N-340 towards GRANADA / SEVILLA. Take the N-331 to CORDOBA / GRANADA / SEVILLA . This turns into the A-92. Approaching GRANADA take the E-902 signposted GRANADA /JAEN and follow CIRCUNVALACION / MOTRIL for about 40 kms. After passing signs for DURCAL / LECRINE EL VALLE take exit no. 164 to LANJARON / LA ALPUJARRA A-348. Pass through LANJARON and after about 6km turn right in front of a house called 'Buenavista' which is opposite high orange gates of a REPSOL butane depot. From Malaga via the Coast:

As you leave the airport, follow the signs to Malaga then follow signs for MOTRIL. After you have passed SALOBRENA take the exit N 323 and follow the signs for GRANADA. After approx 11.5km you'll see the first sign for VELEZ BENAUDALLA, but do not follow it. Keep going for about another 4km and at the second sign for VELEZ BENAUDALLA there is also a sign for LAS ALPUJARRAS on a brown background - turn right accross the bridge. After the bridge turn left to ORGIVA. The road twists and turns for about 12kms, then turn left after a short tunnel and cross a single-track stone bridge (black arrow has priority, red arrow gives way). Continue through ORGIVA town. Bear left at the traffic lights near the church, (signs are for A348 LANJARON & TREVELEZ). Continue past a small BP petrol station and cross the bridge (observe priority). Continue past Hotel Nazari and another BP station on the right. After about 1.5kms you will see the "Camping Bungalows Puerto de la Alpujarra" building on the left. After 200 metres SLOW DOWN and INDICATE LEFT. Be very careful to give way to oncoming traffic as you TURN off the main road in the middle of the right hand bend. You should find yourself in front of a house called "Buena Vista" and behind you on the other side of the road you can see two big orange metal gates... Ok so far?
