Lely - Yoga Teacher

Lelly is passionate about yoga and has studied Hatha, Iyengar and Astanga yoga since 1989. She trained as a yoga teacher with the Sivananda school in Kerala, India, though her teaching style is now influenced by Godfrey Devereux's  Dynamic Yoga Method and by Sarah Powers' Insight yoga teachings, together with Buddhist meditation.

"Yoga helps us to make sense of the often chaotic nature of our lives, taking us from 'Small mind' to 'Big mind'. Using  the tools of the  body, the  breath and awareness to bring  energy into areas where we get physically or emotionally stuck, we can experience new possibilities that contrast to our habitual ways of being. When our full potential becomes available to us, we become available to the world."

Veronika Poola - Natural Health Practitioner

I received my Natural Health Practitioner degree at the Alternative Medicine College of Canada and I am currently finishing my training to become a qualified Naturopath. About five years ago I adopted a 99% raw food diet and since then my main focus has been nutrition and detoxification. My personal experience with detox includes water and juice fasting, intestinal and liver cleansing, colonics, and heavy metal detoxification. I have organised and assisted on several raw food/detox retreats, my role being both health counsellor and educator, helping clients through their detox process and advising them on how to make positive nutritional and lifestyle changes. I believe detox is a good way to rest both body and mind and is an essential part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

During the Kaliyoga Detox retreat I will be giving two evening talks:
1.
How our Digestive and Elimination Systems work (but are often constrained by unhealthy habits)
2. How Different Types of Food Affect Our Health (sprouted food, raw fruit and veg, cooked food, processed food, food combining).

Pablo Mendez: Homeopath & Quantum Practitioner

Pablo is an experienced Naturopath and Homeopath, and he assesses your organic, systemic, chakra & energetic function with cutting edge technology known simply as the Quantum SCIO. The Quantum SCIO heals as it diagnoses using Bio Feeback technology. SCIO stands for Scientific Consciousness Interface Operating-system. During your consultation, you will learn how present physical & emotional symptoms relate to unresolved past events in your life. The Quantum Machine also tests for food intolerances, nutritional and mineral difficiencies and allergies. At the end of the treatment session Pablo prescribes further treatment where necessary, including homeopathy, Bach flower essences & natural supplements. Yair Sagy - Mind-Body Acupuncture

"Mind-body acupuncture is a powerful tool to diagnose and heal physical, emotional and spiritual dis-ease. The essence of the therapy is to observe the energy imbalances within a person and then work to assess why these have arisen. The next stage is a process of letting go of these issues, and finally creating tools that you can utilise to help you with a new approach to life."

Ziza Sagy - Foot Reading and Tibetan Singing Bowls

I have found that this combination greatly enhances and supports the fasting/detox process.

My sessions begin with Foot Reading: I gather information from your feet regarding your past experiences and present tendencies and reflect it back to you. This information will help you understand why you experience hardships and obstructions in your life and what are the best ways in which you can change patterns or strengthen weaknesses

After concluding the Foot Reading I will glide straight into the holistic Reflexology part in which I will support physically the transformational process that the client has chosen to work on. Including opening blockages, reducing stress and alleviating pain. In many cases there is a direct relationship between the physical and emotional pain.

I have observed a direct link between the ability to let go of old emotional patterns / experiences and the amount of colon plaque that clients have shed. Body-mind therapy has the same importance as the physical colonic cleansing.

From my experience, complete detox is a holistic one, approaching mind and body as an integrated unit.

Arantza - Thai Yoga Massage therapist

Originally from the Basque country in the North of Spain, I spent 13 years in the UK before settling here in Andalucia. I teach Hatha yoga and I practice Zen meditaion (The Open Way). I have also practised Vipassana meditation. I am a qualified Thai Yoga Massage practitioner, having studied in Asokananda's school in Northern Thailand.

Matt Hopkins - Chiropractor and Sports Therapist

Using the gentle and holistic approach of McTimoney-Corley Chiropractic in conjunction with a number of muscle energy, positional release and massage techniques, I assess and treat a wide variety of muscular-skeletal issues, ranging from postural imbalances and flexibility problems, through to more serious muscular and skeletal injuries, both acute and chronic.

Yoga practitioners are not immune to injury and many people discover that long-term skeletal misalignment is the cause of limited flexibility or discomfort which, if not healed, can lead people to give up keeping fit altogether.

Charlotte Toomey - Aromatherapy Holistic Massage and Indian Head Massage

Aromatherapy Holistic Massage
The therapeutic effects of aromatic essential oils combined with the soothing power of massage is an excellent preventative treatment helping to relieve stress and many related conditions. Some of the benefits include deep muscular relaxation, stimulation of the immune system and encouraging the elimination of toxins. Rosemary, Geranium, Lavender and Juniper are especially effective on the lymphatic system and can help with fluid retention and cellulite. Specially selected essential oils are chosen for the individual and the massage can be stimulating or relaxing depending on the oils used and the techniques applied. By their fragrance and absorption through the skin the essential oils can have subtle effects on the mind and emotions helping to give feelings of relaxation, balance, harmony and well being.

Indian Head Massage
Originally from the Ayurveda tradition, Indian Head Massage provides relief from discomfort in the areas where most tension is held: upper back; shoulders; upper arms; chest; neck; scalp and face. The techniques used help to clear the mind and achieve a calm state of consciousness, while the selected aromatic oils nourish the skin, scalp and hair.It is an effective yet effortless way to release mental & physical tension, leaving you with a deep sense of peace which has to be experienced to be fully understood.

Please note that availability of therapists varies from week to week depending on personal circumstances.
